Megyn Reacts to Reports of Doug Emhoff’s Alleged Abuse of Ex-Girlfriend Despite His ‘Non-Toxic Masculinity’ Title (2024)

There is a stunning new story out today involving Vice President Kamala Harris’s husband, Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff.

Remember the clip from former Biden press secretary Jen Psaki’s MSNBC show I played for you the other day? We mocked her for her ridiculous lap dog, bootlicking performance applauding him for “reshaping the perception of masculinity” by being “an incredibly supportive spouse,” even though she knows he has admitted to cheating on his first wife, Kerstin Emhoff, with their children’s nanny. He told Psaki he has “always” supported women because “it’s the right thing to do.”

Look, people have marital problems and make bad decisions. However, banging your child’s nanny and impregnating her is in a special league. Whatever happened, he managed to somehow remain friends with that first wife and married Kamala, and I think most of us would have left the incident alone if he hadn’t paraded himself out there – and let the media parade him around – like he was the ideal husband on steroids, like he is the new version of what it means to be a ‘real man.’

The Allegations

It is just insane that they tried to sell us this lot because the news today is that this so-called ‘always supporter of women’ actually hit an ex-girlfriend in the face. According to The Daily Mail’s exclusive reporting, this super guy who has redefined toxic masculinity beat a woman that he was dating prior to Kamala Harris.

The Daily Mail reports that he did not respond to requests for comment on the article. What does that mean? There is not even going to be a denial? I guess they will get around to it?

For now, it is just an allegation. But take some time to read that Daily Mail report (you can find it here) because it is incredibly detailed with several friends of the very successful attorney he was dating providing records and speaking in great detail about the call that the abuse victim allegedly made to them after he allegedly smacked her outside an event in Cannes, France.

I am offering the appropriate caveats at this point in the story, but I am not giving Doug Emhoff the benefit of the doubt. He doesn’t deserve it. He slept with the nanny, Najen Naylor, while he was married and then she either aborted the child or – as The Daily Mail report suggests – had a miscarriage. There also may have been an $80,000 settlement, a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) to keep Naylor quiet, and calls to emergency services while she was still pregnant.

The Media Fall Down

What happened there? Any enterprising media would want to know the answer if this were somebody with a last name Trump or Vance. If this were a Republican, it would be leading every news channel. Reporters would go figure out what they had on their hands. No one has seemingly looked into this other than The Daily Mail.

Here’s the thing: A Democrat Party that hadn’t committed a coup and just decided at the top levels who was going to be the new candidate might have done opposition research on those they were considering to make sure there weren’t these kinds of skeletons in the closet of the person who would be the very first first gentleman in U.S. history.

In August, Mark Halperin reported on our show that there was still more oppo research to drop about Harris and Emhoff because she and, by extension, he have never really been formally vetted. Harris got elevated so quickly to the vice president spot under Biden and then again to the top of the Democratic ticket that it just hasn’t happened – yet.

Now, the vetting begins by The Daily Mail, and God bless them for actually looking into these stories that other people think are too beneath them to check out. Although, these other ‘respectable’ news outlets wasted no time reporting on Stormy Daniels and whether she said Donald Trump wore a condom. That is apparently not beneath them.
